Having lived in Melbourne for 8 years, Colin's home was the sort that I always wished that I could live in. A two storey Victorian with all the period details, this is the perfect place to stay. Two blocks from two supermarkets and the Carlisle Street shops. The Balaclava Station is two further blocks away on Carlisle--handy for taking SkyBus from the airport and the train from Southern Cross (City Loop to Flinders St;Sandringham line 5 stops to Balaclava). Chapel Street tram for trendy Toorak Road is two blocks away. St Kilda tram for the city museums and sites is 5 blocks away. I stayed in a light, airy upstairs room with an adjacent private bath. No AC, but fan available. Elegant brekkie is available for less than a flat white and a roll out in town. Colin could not have been more welcoming or informative. This is the perfect base for a Melbourne stay. Seth an American Airbnb guest, December 2015
I experienced a lovely relaxing stay with Colin and Chung. Breakfast was a delight and nothing was too much trouble for the guys. I would stay with Colin and Chung again. Linda from NZ on Travelmob, January 2015.
I stayed at Clement House for 8 nights in October and had a great experience. Clement House is comfortable, quiet and very welcoming. The room and your own private bathroom are clean and spacious. Colin and Chung (hosts) are very friendly and helpful. The location is great, 2 min walk to the tram stop (located on Chapel St) and 5-6 min walk to the Balaclava Railway Station (train will take you to the Melbourne CBD in 11 min). Great value, I recommend Clement House.
Milton from Hampshire, England - I stayed here on boxing day for 2 nights . The hosts Colin & Chung were very hospitable and the house was very similar to an old English house.Good choice of breakfast and a great location to explore the city with both Trams and a train station nearby. Very quiet place and lovely coffee shops nearby. I will hope to come back for the next ashes tour and would definitely stay here again. (January 2014, returned to stay again 2 weeks later)
